New owners and the food is not same and not for the better. Yosenabe was full of cubes of Tofu as a filler. It wasn't even Yosenabe, it was Sukiyaki described as Yosenabe.

Yummy old school local Japanese cuisine. This type of restaurants in Hawaii are dwindling. For a normal eater, good size portions.

Fabulous food, there was 4 things listed on the lunch menu I really like, selected one and it was wonderful. The portion size for me was big but I finished most it. Still full 4 hours later. Local restaurant with great food and service, highly recommend a visit.

Kāneohe is a fisherman town and it is proudly represented here at Kikuya. Everytime we have eaten there is always a desire to eat fish. Nevermind the teishoku dinners which is common in 90% within Hawaii Japanese restaurants. If you are craving akule, papio, menpachi or Hawaiian reef fishes this is your one-stop shop. Food is quick and fresh and the family who owns this quiet respectable dive are true to themselves and their customer base. Go there and find out for yourself how ono their food is. Ke aloha mai nei kākou.

Good food, crowded (due to the good food), but not too long of a wait at rush hour.

Service is courteous and food is delicious. Went for Sunday lunch and food arrived without much delay. And tempura is hot, flakey, and tender inside.

You get a lot for your money and it's delicious! They have a Happy Hour deal going on during summer...15% off menu items after 1 pm. They are closed Mondays. LOVE the butterfish😋

Most authentic Japanese food I ever had outside of Japan.

Tucked away in the corner of a bunch of warehouse offices, this is one of those secret local eats. The Japanese food here never disappoints. I love the akule, but it's a special and not always on the menu.

Sorry but prices went up too high and quality of food not as good. Right now Domo or Kenko Ya is better. Kikuya - Please review your prices and improve the quality of your food. Few years ago it was awesome!

Cute hole-in-the-wall Japanese restaurant in an industrial-ish area of Kaneohe. Have always had a good experience here with very helpful and friendly staff to delicious local-style Japanese food. On my last visit during lunch, I was hoping for more Teishoku options with sashimi, but the lunch menu only had two choices. The waitress brought the dinner special menu and said I could pick from there. Gotta love when they go the extra mile like that to make their customers happy.

The food was absolutely excellent but restaurant small. Customer service was great, a seems like a family operation love the feeling. Highly recommended to everyone who loves seafood. We ordered teri Butterfish and Ahi belly included shrimp n vegt tempura, sashimi and hot miso soup!

Service good...food extra good. It's new ownership and they have finally got their boots on the ground. Stable operating hours which is pretty much the same as previous owner. AND the food was delish. We wish them the best of luck.

Excellent food, service, and decor!

Food is exceptionally good. Priced well and the staff is quite friendly. The portion sizes are generous, so be prepared to ask for a take out box. Parking can be a challenge, but well worth to have to walk a block or so if you cant find a stall in the actual lot. Older furnishings so its not trendy, but for serious foodies, you gotta give them a try.

I come here all the time. Excellent service and friendly atmosphere. The food is delicious and you get a lot for what you pay for. And they added more parking. We enjoy eating at this restaurant.

This is my favorite restaurant in Hawaii. Delicious Teishokus and they make the Tempura just right. Excellent service, and the owner Calvin is extremely hardworking and personable.
